Each MeetUp is facilitated by a regional host. But you can join no matter where you are based - might just mean a late or very early start.
We appreciate that treatment for tongue cancer can present challenges with speech, which aren’t made easier when trying to talk remotely over video. Please note that you won’t be made to speak, you are welcome to use the chat facility or solely listen. We have community rules, which we remind everybody of at the beginning of each MeetUp.
This is a safe space for all with tongue cancer or a cancer diagnosis that involves similar treatment.
We all have shared the common experience of hearing the words “You have cancer”, which means we treat each other as equals and refrain from playing cancer top trumps.
As a community we are mindful that we come from different areas of globe.
Let’s be kind, create space for others to express themselves, don’t interrupt or finish their sentences and aim to support in a positive way.
We encourage you to share your own experiences, but please refrain from giving medical advice. We always recommend talking to your medical team first.
We hold regular virtual meet ups every couple of months and a couple of in person meet ups per year. In 2022 we had a meeting up in London, New York and Birmingham.
