Young Tongues is a global support charity for people aged 18 and over who were diagnosed with tongue cancer before their 65th birthday. We bring together patients, carers, clinicians and researchers to ensure that younger people facing tongue cancer have access to the support, knowledge and community they need.
A diagnosis of tongue cancer can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re younger and struggling to find information or support that reflects your stage of life.
Young Tongues exists to change that.
We are a global community of people living with and beyond tongue cancer, alongside the families, clinicians and researchers working to improve outcomes for younger patients.
Through peer support groups, virtual meet-ups, educational resources and honest conversations, we help people connect with others who truly understand the journey.
Because sometimes the most powerful support comes from someone who has been there before.
Hearing from someone who truly understands can change everything. In this video, members of the Young Tongues community share how connecting with others who have experienced tongue cancer has supported them through diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
Young Tongues has grown into a global network connecting patients, carers, clinicians and researchers.
Together we are working towards a future where:
tongue cancer in younger people is recognised earlier
patients receive age-appropriate care and support
research reflects the real experiences of those affected
no one has to navigate this journey alone
To see the impact Young Tongues is already having across support, research and advocacy, read our Annual Report 2024/2025.
